The Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the following disciplines:
(1) Quality research of innovative Chinese medicine and registration of international health products.
(2) Development of functional foods from Chinese medicine.
(3) Clinical, research & teaching of traditional Chinese medicine.
Established in 2002, the ICMS is an academic centre of excellence in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in the region. It hosts the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, which is China’s first and only state key Laboratory in the field of Chinese medical sciences. Over the past decade, the Institute has established an international reputation in conducting high-quality research with special emphasis on quality control of Chinese medicine, drug discovery & development, systems pharmacology and molecular pharmaceutics. It has secured outstanding funding support from both national and regional governments and built long-term strategic collaborations with top academic organizations around the world.
Candidates should possess PhD/MD degree in biomedical sciences, traditional Chinese medicine or related disciplines, postdoctoral research experience from globally renowned universities, and should have a distinguished track record of internationally-recognized research publications. Priority consideration will be given to those with sustained high-quality research/teaching/clinical practice experience in drug development or traditional Chinese medicine, and international/national awards or patents in relevant fields.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in January 2019.
Position and Remuneration
Remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification, current position and professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
